Chris Cook, 49, of Amarillo, TX died Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd, with Travis Bennett of Arena of Life officiating.  Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Chris was born October 5, 1972, in Amarillo, TX to William E. and Ava Dawn Cook.

He worked in construction and provided remodeling services as a tile setter.  Chris loved laying tile and was very proud of his work.  He also loved going to the races every Saturday night at Route 66 Motor Speedway.  His favorite drivers were No Neck Robby Layton, and his nephew Chris Elliott.

He enjoyed attending Arena of Life where he was recently baptized and received multiple certificates.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Gary Cook.

Survivors include a daughter, Alexis Cook; brothers, Michael Cook, Billy Cook, and Brad Cook; sisters, Connie Blunt, Cindy Chism, Pam Elliott, Kimberly Cook, and Amanda Velazquez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

  1. Chris you were loved by many. Many people knew you from your work as an amazing tile setter. And for your love of the races and your daughter. You were my crush and my love for years. I will miss you so very much. You will be with me forever in my heart , thoughts and my memories of our time together. Prayers for peace and comfort to the family.   5. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. When we moved into our house on Lake St. Chris was 3. Him and my kids played together and were friends most of their lives. I did talk to my Chris and he said to tell y’all he was so sorry. God Bless

    1. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Chris was a friend of mine. He worked for me year’s ago. We would try to go to lunch at least once a week. I’m going to miss my friend very much. Still hard for me to understand why he’s gone. He’s in a better place, but way too early. Rest In Peace Pal!! I will always love you!!!
