Claire embodied sunshine, grace, happiness, strength, and love. She was both soft-spoken and outgoing. Claire’s life would seem short to many, but she experienced every minute of her time here to the fullest. Claire loved to make music; she was a violinist in the Amarillo Symphony Youth Orchestra and had achieved Concertmaster in the Youth Symphony Philharmonic last year. She was active in the youth group at Polk Street Methodist Church. Claire was an honor student at Austin Middle School and was a member of the Chamber Orchestra, orchestra council, yearbook staff, and National Junior Honor Society.

Claire loved spending summers and holidays with her family at the “cabin house” in Cuchara, Colorado, spending time outdoors playing in the creek, swimming, hiking, and playing tennis with her family. She also enjoyed skiing with her dad and delighted in shopping in Colorado Springs with her mom. Claire’s hobbies included creating craft projects, sculpting, drawing, solving puzzles, and making soaps for her friends. She was also the “hostess with the mostest” when it was time for a Halloween, Christmas, or Valentine’s Day party with her friends.

Claire was a world traveler having played her violin in an ancient cathedral in Avila, Spain, seeing the Eiffel Tower lit up at night, ziplining a glacier in Switzerland, shopping the markets in Provence, swimming in the Mediterranean, dining on the beach in Monaco, and crossing the Alps in Italy. She was a lover of animals, doting on her hound dog Jackson and Japanese Chin Coco Chinelle. She treasured her lifelong stuffed animals BunBun and Fenney.

“Jesus said let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
