Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023, in Stratford Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Clara was born January 1, 1934 in Stratford, TX to Willis and Hilda Naugle. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1952. Clara married Alton John Blades in 1955 after Alton returned from four years in the Navy. Together, they shared 57 wonderful years before his passing on February 14, 2013.

Lanell was a Gold Star Sherman County 4-H winner. She was a member of the Stratford Christian Church for 35 years then a member of Sunray Baptist Church from 1993-2009. Lanell devoted her time to many organizations including Moore County Fair, Meals on Wheels, Cub Scouts Den Mother, Brownie, and Girls Scouts, Girls Moore County 4-H Leader, Sunray Girls Softball, Moore County Home Demo Club, Sunray Tops 494 Club, and was awarded Woman of the Year. Lanell enjoyed sewing, oil painting, and doing crafts. She lived in Sunray for 50 years before relocating to Amarillo.

Lanell is survived by her son, Johnny Blades, and wife Jan, of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Karen Montana, and husband Rick, of Grove, OK; a brother, Glen Naugle, of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Melinda Hurd, and husband Tom, of Amarillo, TX; five grandchildren, Laura Flores, Matthew Blades, Amber Barbour, Stephanie Lopez, and Amy Warren; eleven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
