Corina Alvarez, 61, of Amarillo, TX passed away on June 15, 2022.

Services will be at 3:30 P.M., Monday, June 20, 2022, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Jeffery Vera officiating. Burial will be at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Corina was born in Plainview, TX on May 19, 1961, to Frances Arredondo and Alfonso Martinez.

Corina married Diego Alvarez in Amarillo, TX on January 4, 1983. She worked for Havertys Furniture for 13 years and she also helped her husband with USA Janitor Service.

She was preceded in death by her son, Russell Martinez, of Amarillo, TX; siblings, Robert Martinez, of Fort Worth, TX, Kevin Cardinal, of Hereford, TX, Sandra Arredondo, of Alice, TX, Noel Arredonda, of Corpus Christi, TX,

Survivors include her husband, Diego Alvarez; daughters, Stephanie Moreno and husband Ricardo, and Katie Marshall; grandchildren, Damion Alvarez (Aaliyah Ruiz), Samuel Alvarez, Miya Moreno, Aryiah Marshall, and Andrea Marshall; great-grandchild, Rome Alvarez; mother, Frances Arredondo, of Orange Grove, TX; father, Alfonso Martinez, of Plainview, TX; step-mother, Agatha Martinez, of Amarillo, TX; siblings, Andy Martinez, of Gunnison, CO, Kevin Cardinal, Rudy and Jhosefina Martinez, of Fort Worth, TX, Kris Cardinal, of Fort Worth, TX, Joel Arredondo and Mary Jane, of Corpus Christi, TX, Edward and Mary Arredondo, of Orange Grove, TX, Ruben and Vanessa Arredondo, of Aqua Dulce, TX, Mark Arredondo, of Orange Grove, TX, Lisa Carrillo, of Amarillo, TX, Christine and Dale Shreffler, of Hobbs, NM, Dina and Ernie Cordova, of Clovis, NM, Melinda Hicks, of Hemphill, TX, Angela and Auggie Luera, of Amarillo, TX, Kerri and Ken Grabber, of Amarillo, TX, Velma and Paul Sauceda, of Alice, TX, and Junior Sanchez, of Lubbock, TX; sister-in-law, Barbie Williams; brothers-in-law, Carlos Alvarez, Daniel Alvarez, and Gabriel Alvarez; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

  2. Diego & family…I don’t know if you remember me from working with Corina at Haverty’s, as well as going to school with her. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Sending healing prayers of comfort to each of you.

  3. My deepest condolences to my cousin Diego & his daughters Stephanie and Katie. They have lost the “Rock” in their family. Corina was a great person and a hard worker; who always had a smile on her face no matter what she was going thru. I used to babysit Russell for her when he was a baby, and she was always so nice to me. I did not see her before she passed, but she will be missed, and I will always have very fond memories of her.
