C. D. “Jimmy” Bishard
C. D. “Jimmy” Bishard, 89, of Stratford, died on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
The family will receive friends at Boxwell Brothers at Stratford, 311 N. Main on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 3:00 P. M. to 4:00 P.M. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Stinnett Cemetery. Military Rites will be by American Legion Post #224. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.
Jimmy was born on May 17, 1934 in Edmond, Ok. His family moved to Borger when he was twelve years old and he graduated from Borger High School in 1952. He played basketball all around the world and served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He had worked for Phillips Petroleum over 38 years until retirement. He was a past member of the Elks Lodge. Jimmy enjoyed bowling, camping and fishing.
He married Nadine Bishard on March 14, 1958 in Borger. They moved to Stinnett in 1959 and to Stratford in 1987.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.J. Miller and Vivian Miller and D.J. Bishard; a son, Billy Bishard; and a sister, Janice Thomas.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Nadine Bishard of Stratford; a daughter, Marceita Dorsey and husband Jesse of Amarillo; a bonus daughter, Ann Wells of Clover, S.C.; four grandchildren, Eric Davis and fiancé Melissa Spaulding of Amarillo, Jennifer Davis and Andrea Davis, both of Delco, N.C., and Jackie Grey of Amarillo; and one great grandchild, Leif Ericson Davis.
