Daniel Webster, 81, passed away on July 2, 2022, in Amarillo, TX after a brief battle with Alzheimer’s.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 8, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Watauga, TX with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Daniel was born on October 18, 1940, to ­­­­­­­­­Dr. George D. and Althea Caroline Ledebur Webster in Warren, Pennsylvania.  He married his wife, Elaine Cartwright in 1962 and they had 59 years of marriage together.

Joining the USAF in 1958, Dan served his country for twenty years and twenty days as an Avionics Equipment Technician.   His love of all things airplane began when he was still in school and stayed with him throughout retirement. He received an Air Force Commendation Medal distinguishing himself by meritorious service as an Instructor. Dan and his wife were stationed all over the globe including Japan, Florida, Denver, and Plattsburg, NY.

After his time in the Air Force, Dan spent some years in related careers with Texas Instruments, Raytheon, and Motorola, and even worked for some years at Roy’s Hobby Shop, where he supported his passion for model and radio-controlled airplanes.

He was a long-time deacon at First Baptist Watauga.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Robert Noah Webster, sister, LaDotta Mae Webster, and son, Barry Evans Webster.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elaine Cartwright Webster; daughter, Jodi Lynn Baker (Dan) of Amarillo; 5 grandchildren, Jacob Webster (Korri), Kasey Webster, Sarah Shafer (Timothy), Hannah Bandy (Cameron), and Jonathan Baker (Hallie); and 5 great-grandchildren, Devon, Ciera, Piper, Bentleigh, and Bonnie. He is also survived by his brothers, George Webster, Albert Webster, John Webster, and Bill Webster; and other extended family.

  3. I have and will always have a deep respect for both Dan and Elaine. They were my parents for the longest time and set a perfect example of good christain people. Dan will surely be missed by the many who knew and loved him.
