Danny Dean Dwight, 66, of Amarillo, TX passed away February 7, 2024.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, February 12, 2024 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount with honors presented by Amarillo Fire Department. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Danny was born June 5, 1957 in Amarillo, TX to Richard and Betty Dwight. He attended Dalhart High School and graduated from Hedley High School then proudly served in the United States Navy in the Fighter Squadron from 1975-1981. Shortly thereafter, he attended the Amarillo Fire Academy and continued his faithful
career with the Amarillo Fire Department as Lieutenant and Fleet Maintenance Administrator. Danny was an avid reader and outdoorsman. He enjoyed elk hunting, riding his Harley, was a huge animal lover and a longtime
member of the VFW. Danny was the most loving father and grandfather!
He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Dwight; and brother, Paul Dwight.
Danny is survived by his daughter, Haley Dwight and her fiancé, David Martinez of Vega, TX; mother, Betty Dwight of Hedley, TX; sister, Timber Lee Potts of Hedley, TX; brother, Kirk Dwight and wife Beverly of Clarendon, TX; grandkids, Chevy Miller, Jazlene Martinez, and Diego Martinez all of Vega, TX; and nieces and nephews, James Lee Potts, Tessa Dwight, Christopher Dwight, and Kristen Dwight.
