Darla Renee Wait Russell, 48, of Lubbock, TX formerly of Amarillo, TX passed away December 21, 2019

Services will be on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

Darla was born in Boise City, OK on March 21, 1971 to Ernest and Trish Hall Wait.

She graduated from Campo High School in Campo, CO in 1989. Darla earned an associate degree from Amarillo College. She was in banking for over 25 years. She worked at Nations, Boatman’s, and Bank of America in Amarillo, Sandia Labs Credit Union in Edgewood, NM and was currently working at Lubbock National Bank in Lubbock.

She was always the life of the party in everything she did. She loved the Denver Broncos. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. All of her banking customers loved her.

She married her husband Kevin Russell in 1995 in Amarillo, Texas. They were blessed with two children Conner Morgan and Carli Mae. They lived in Amarillo, Edgewood, NM and currently Lubbock.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin, of Lubbock; son, Conner Russell and his girlfriend, Jordann Goodman and her son Lane, of Las Vegas, NM; daughter, Carli Russell, of Lubbock; father, Ernest Wait, of Campo, CO; mother, Trish Wilson, of Amarillo; sister, Debbie Mask and husband Rick, of Amarillo; brothers, Derrick Wait and wife Krystal, of Amarillo, and Denny Wait, of Campo, CO; in-laws, Kenneth and Myrna Russell, of Amarillo; sister-in-law, Karen Russell, of Lubbock; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorials can be made to your favorite charity.

  1. So many memories of Darla. Just hearing her laugh made you laugh too. If you didn’t laugh, her laugh would at least put a smile on your face. Even though we didn’t see her often, we will still miss her. We are praying for all of you. Love. Art & Valorie Mejia
