David Lee Bailey, 73, of Amarillo, TX, died Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
A celebration of life will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2023, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Corky Holland officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
David was born March 6, 1949, in Amarillo to Warren Gene and Patricia Berg Bailey. He was a member of First Baptist Church. David married Deborah King on August 8, 1970.
David was a CPA associated with Arthur Andersen in Ft. Worth, then in Amarillo with Santa Fe Energy, Nunn Electric, and Border States. He attended Stanford University and graduated from West Texas A&M University. David enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting, woodworking, vintage cars, and he was an avid reader.
Survivors include his wife 52 years, Debbie Bailey; son, Bryan Bailey of Houston; daughter Karen Taylor and husband Grant of Ft. Worth; grandchildren Colin and Gabrielle Bailey, Austin and Aiden Taylor; brother Russell Bailey and wife Cathy of Amarillo; niece Claire Benson and husband Jake of Canyon; nephew Reid Bailey and wife Lacy of Amarillo; many cousins and great-nephews and nieces.
The family suggests memorial donations to either Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, 2914 Swiss Avenue, Dallas, TX 75204; or Storybridge, P.O. Box 50524, Amarillo, TX 79159
