David Reaves, 63, of Amarillo, TX died Sunday, August 28, 2022.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Dave was born July 3, 1959, in El Paso, TX to Frank and Iona Reaves.  He graduated from Amarillo High School.  For many years, he worked for Bell Helicopter and was currently working at Sage Oil Vac.

Dave loved the Dallas Cowboys, playing Fantasy Football, and his dog Dozer.  He also enjoyed playing darts.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Reaves; and an infant brother.

Survivors include his son, Michael Reaves, of Amarillo, TX; two brothers, Clay Reaves and wife Marilyn, of Fayetteville, NC, and Wayne Reaves, of Oklahoma City, OK; his former wife, Sue Goolsby, of Sunray, TX; as well as countless friends.

Viewing will be available from 8:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M., Friday, September 2, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

  1. David was a good friend we attended Fanning Jr High and Amarillo High School together
    David was a good athlete and so was I.
    Playing pick up basketball we usually were on opposite teams.We usually ended up guarding each other.It always went back and forth with neither one of us getting the upper hand.I miss you my old friend.

  2. David was a close friend growing up. We shared interests in football and just about anything involving competition. We were baptised on the same day at Faith Baptist church in Amarillo. We had reconnected the last few years via Facebook. RIP buddy.

  3. David Was one of my friends from Fannin Jr, High and Amarillo High School. He will be truly missed. I enjoyed seeing his comments encouraging me on my Design and Build projects. We kept in contact through Facebook and that’s going to be truly missed. David Rest In Peace my brother. I love you as my own brother and I am so sad but I understand God’s will to call us home.
