Dickie Bell

Dickie Bell, 89, of Amarillo, TX went to his heavenly home on December 24, 2022.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.  Burial will be private.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Dickie was born January 27, 1933, in Amarillo, TX to Martin Harvey and Elvie Kizzie Bell.  He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1952.

He spent his working years in the tile and carpet laying business.

Dickie married Kay Noble in November 1985.  They opened Kay’s Upholstery.

Upon retirement he honed his skills on woodworking, making many birdhouses, crosses and frames for family and friends.  His favorite day of the week was Friday lunches with the guys, and sometimes gals, of the AHS Class of 1952.  He continued the lunches up until recently when one of the “girls” would pick him up.

Dickie was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Bell; five sisters; two brothers; and three sons-in-law.

He is survived by his son, Joe Bell (Jan); daughters, Lynn Brollier, Melody Flanagan (Kelly), and Teresa Gibson, all of Amarillo, TX; grandsons, Kaleb Flanagan, Kane Flanagan, Kale Flanagan, Cleat Bell, Miles Bell, and Brennen Bell; twelve great-grandchildren; two step-sons, Danny Fortune, and David Fortune; and his full-time four-legged companion of many years, Jack.
