Dickie Glenn McCarty, 63, of Amarillo, TX died October 30. 2020.

Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Family Life Fellowship with Pastor Robby Ashlock from Family Life Fellowship officiating.   Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Dickie was born in Borger, TX., on February 22, 1957, to Bobby Jo and Imo Gene McCarty.

Dickie married Jan Matthews on November 15, 1985 in Clovis, NM.  Dickie grew up in Amarillo and worked at Asarco for 43 years.  He loved the Dallas Cowboys and his grandkids.  He loved to shoot and to teach others to shoot.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Brent McCarty, and his parents.

Survivors include his wife Jan; sons, Bandy McCarty and wife Angel, Brandon Kinard and wife Lindsey; daughter, Amanda McCarty and wife Tiana McCarty; and sister, Kerry Wilhite and husband Jack, all of Amarillo; niece, Sasha; nephews, Bobby, Jerry, and Wesley; five great-nieces and great-nephews; one great-great-niece; grandkids, Jace, Rhaelyn, Nathen, Nova, Brecken, Laken, Haysley-Kayte; honorary daughter, Jami Jordan; and honorary grandkids, Korben, Brandi, and Brandon.

  5. He was my best friend and is still my brother in Christ Jesus. The most giving and positive person. Thank you Dickie for every adventure, for taking Phillip hunting when I wouldn’t, and rescuing me in the great blizzard! I can’t wait to see you again.

  6. My sister Debbie and I got to spend the summer with him and our Aunt Jeannie. We had a lot of fun that summer. He made us feel welcome then. Thank you Uncle Dickie
