Donald “Don” Albert Frank, Jr., 62, of Amarillo, died Friday, January 8, 2021.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with The Reverend Dede Schuler Ballou, Deacon, of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Donald was born on July 22, 1958 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee to Martha (Molly) Ann and Donald Frank, MD.

Don was the ultimate salesman and a very loyal dedicated employee.  He was a long-time salesman and manager at Colbert and Blackburn’s.  He finally found his passion for car sales at Greg Lair GMC for the past 19 years.

Don was the best “Papa” in the world to grandson Caiden and “Uncle Donnie” to his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, Chelsea, John, Aspen, Aiden, Asher, Noah, Oakley, Christian, Sarah, Jack, Stella, Iris, Victoria, Kyle, Forrest, River, Emma, Hamp, and Kane.

He could calm a baby like no other.  Every time he saw Aspen he would ask her, “Has anyone told you that you are beautiful today?”  Her response was always “Uncle Donnie!”

Don was always goofy, silly, and happy.  He would always put a smile on your face.  He never met a stranger and had a memory like an elephant.  He had more friends that any person we have ever known.  He put others needs before himself.  Don was an impeccable stylish dresser.  It took him two hours to get ready.  He loved to dance, especially to disco.  Don was a great story teller, sometimes the same story over and over.  One of his favorite things in life was FOOD.  He was a “Foodie” before it became a “Thing”.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

He is survived by his daughter, Abbie Frank and partner Zac; son, Aaron Bishop and wife Brooke; grandson, Caiden; brothers, Brian Frank and wife Amy; Marcus Frank and partner Debbie; and sister, Kathryn Laumer and wife Kay.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for his grandson’s Caiden Carrasco’s College Fund: payable to American Funds, c/o Amarillo Wealth Management, 5073 S. Coulter, Suite 3, Amarillo, Texas 79119.
