Donald married Rhea McMillian on August 27, 1983, in Dallas, TX.

He was a member of Bell Avenue Church of Christ for many years. He was a busy man and after retirement, he had some hobbies that kept him going; he was a western artist and made all types of leatherworks, he was very good at making saddles of all sizes.  Donald loved his family and home very much. He was a God-loving

man, being in construction in his spare time he would make a list of handy work people needed to do around their homes and he would do it for free and never charged them a penny. He did a lot of charitable work, and it brought him a great amount of joy to help others. His favorite scripture was John 11 verses 25 and 26, “Jesus said unto her I am the resurrection and the life, he that believeth in me tho he were dead yet shall he live and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die” he strived to live by this verse daily. Donald loved Jesus and served him often.
