Dorothy Jane Twing

Dorothy Jane Twing, 96, of Amarillo, TX passed away on April 28, 2020.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 26, 2020 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

Jane was born in Floydada, TX on June 26, 1923, to Mabel and Forest “Fist” Ansley.

Jane was a member of Las Amigas and Daughter of the American Revolution. She volunteered at the V.A. Hospital and Kindred Hospice.

Jane was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold K. Twing, and sister, Jeanne McSwain.

Survivors include sons, Kent Twing and wife Elaine, of Amarillo, TX, Kurt Twing, of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Becky Gatens and husband Jim, of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Shawn Twing, Michael Twing, Kendal Twing, Michelle Holiday; and nine great-grandchildren.

  1. Kent, Kurt and Becky. Jan and I loved your mom and dad soo very much and miss them greatly. Jan and I called aunt Jane often and will miss our LONG conversations and continuous laughter. I know you know how proud your mom was of each of you as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren
    My mother used to say Curtis. Class is a rare thing so when you see it acknowledge it. Jane Twing was truly the classiest woman I ever met. Out prayers and good thoughts continue to be with you and your families

  2. As we gather on June 25th to celebrate Jane’s life, I hope everyone will be steeped in the many wonderful memories of this wonderful and dear lady. She was truly an inspiration to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. We were all blessed to have this gracious great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, mother-in-law and friend in our lives. We all love you and know that you and Pa are having more sweet moments in the presence of our Lord.

  6. Heaven has gained another angel. I have so many fond memories of family get togethers and pool time with she & Harold. She always had a smile on her face and a ray of sunshine. Prayers to all of the Twing family. She will be missed. God bless.

  7. I am Debbie Bernson, daughter of Betty Pinkston Adams. Mom lived across the street from Jane. I have known her for many many years and she was the sweetest lady that I knew. To her family my deepest sympathy and she will be very missed.

  8. So glad I had a nice telephone visit with her just 2 weeks ago.. she was the ultimate volunteer it seemed to me. She helped out many different groups. My deepest sympathy to all of you. Sharon Puckett

  9. Jane was a beloved member of our Las Amigas Bridge club for many years. We will miss her entertaining stories, sweet nature and cute laugh. On behalf of the club, I extend our condolences to her loved ones. We will remember her fondly.

  11. I just happy thoughts of times with my great aunt and of course Harold. I love being with such great family meals with learning about rock hunting, great grandparents, and the variety of photos of days gone by and hopes we could to the great things they have accomplished. The Ansley family was more than wonderful it was awesome. My granddaughter Margaret “Maggie “ Ansley and I know how much my mother Margaret Anne Ansley Reid looked like Aunt Jane. Well best thing of Aunt Jane is delicious food, devotion to God and church plus her family. We will all miss her very much and wished we could come together at her funeral. Our families’ prayers be with her family today and throughout their lives.
