  6. One of the real joys of my life was a phone call to my nephew, Danny. He was consistently pleasant with that ever present chuckle in his voice. He just lightened your spirit. He had an ironic sense of humor that he inherited from his dad. Sometimes it was too subtle for me. His conversation would end suddenly so I knew that I had missed some witty response. Fortunately he was patient until I caught up. I will so miss those calls.
    With love,
    Uncle Bill

  7. Judy and Matthew, I’m so sorry for your loss. Many hugs and prayers to you.

  8. The Lord’s Talley Book. – for Dan Cassetty.
Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭29‬ ‭NIV‬‬ —“I know that when I come to you, I will come in the full measure of the blessing of Christ.”

As I grew up I observed that nearly all older Rancher’s and even some of the Cowboys carried a “Talley” book. They never knew smart phone apps or accounting software. Every cow they owned, the losses, the calves born, etc were in that book. That book told them how they were doing for the year, sometimes down to the individual cow. I sometimes speculate that the Lord has his own Talley book for each of us. And perhaps He gives marks based on how we conduct of our lives. Especially He may keep track of the folks we witness too, the effort we spend on spreading Grace.
This morning I got sad news. A long time co-worker, and more importantly, a good Christian friend passed away, Dan Cassetty. I was very fortunate that I got the opportunity to re-kindle that relationship some 4 or 5 months ago. When we worked together at Bell he witnessed to me on several occasions even though I made it clear at the time I was un-fertile ground. The last time was a couple of days before I had open heart surgery. He brought me a Bible, asked if he could pray for me, and quizzed me on being saved and what my relationship with God was. My response, which saddens me now, was that God and I had no use for each other.
Fast forward to my redemption. Some time after my fall and subsequent salvation I called Dan and we had breakfast on numerous occasions. I picked his Christian brain, We shared fellowship, and I thanked him profusely for the fertilizer of years before that brought my seed to fruition. He was gracious and truly happy for me.
I am sorry to lose him and I grieve along side his family and friends. My one prayer for Dan is that I be jotted down as a mark to the positive in his Talley book. Amen

    May you be blessed.

I used that white wheeled thing until the handlebars fell off. We truly left great neighbors behind when we moved. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
