Earl Jiles Jr.

Earl Jiles Jr., 92 of Amarillo, TX died Saturday, February 8, 2020.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 13, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.  Burial will follow at Boise City Cemetery in Boise City, OK.  Military rites are provided by Volleys for Veterans.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Earl was born December 5, 1927, in Boise City, OK to Earl and Clara Jiles.  He served in the Army during World War II. He worked throughout the panhandle as an oil field drilling superintendent, mostly for Unit Drilling.  He was a member of Khiva Shrine.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Dorothy Jiles and Marie Jiles; and two brothers, Bob Jiles and Roy Jiles.

Survivors include Charlotte Jiles, of Amarillo, TX; a daughter, Earlene Click-Sander and husband Gary, of Enid, OK; three sons, John Jiles and wife Carolyn, of Showlow, AZ, Earl Jiles III, and Roy Jiles and wife Marcy, all of Amarillo; thirteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, donate.lovetotherescue.org, or P.O. Box 1525 Ranson, West Virginia 25438.

  1. So sorry I just found this. I am Brett Balenseifen son of Bonnie a half sister. We buried her Friday in Wheeless. I wish I would have known about Uncle Earl.

  2. So sorry to hear of Earl’s passing. I cared for Earl at Ussery-Roan and it was a pleasure getting to know him and the family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
