Edwin Audean Clark

Edwin Audean Clark, 89, of Amarillo, TX went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 30, 2022.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Ed was born in Amarillo, Texas on June 03, 1932, to Bert and Elizabeth Clark.

He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1950. He was a proud Sandie. After high school, he joined the Navy Reserves from 1951 – 1955.

Ed married Lois Brown in 1950. Together, they had three beautiful children, Terri, Gary, and Debbie. In 1967, he married Tiny Shirk. He loved her and her wonderful children, Linda and Lee, like his own. Together they had Deanna in 1970.

Ed was an incredibly hardworking and smart man. He enjoyed time working at Diamond Shamrock, owning a service station, managing Tascosa Drive In, and Eastridge Bowling Alley until he ultimately began a 22 year career with Jack B Kelley where he loved his work family. He retired in June of 1992.

Ed loved his family so much.  He spent many years working to provide for his family but after retirement, he was thankful for the priceless, quality time with his loved ones, especially at the end.  He was a terrific Dad and the most amazing Papa.  He was a very generous and kind man to all.

Ed loved so big and with everything he had, family and friends will miss him so much.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved son Gary; brother Lewis Squires; brother John Clark; brother Hugh Clark and wife Glo; sister Evelyn Lewis; twin sister Pauline Magouyrk and husband Walter; sister Ruth Hicks; sweet grandson Dale Charles Stinnett Jr; precious great-great grandson Ryan Whisenant; and beautiful granddaughter Lori Stanhope.

Survivors include brother-in-law Hubert Lewis of Amarillo; daughters Terri Whisenant and husband Robert of Amarillo; Debbie Stinnett and husband Dale of Amarillo; Linda Stanhope and husband Bobby of Alvord, Texas; Deanna Clark of Amarillo; son Lee Cloud of Kermit, Texas; and his former wife, Tiny Clark, of Amarillo.

Ed was so proud of his 12 grandchildren, Jeff Whisenant and wife Suezan, Chris Crook and husband Doug, Casey Myers and husband Steve, Cuyler Stinnett and wife Aryn, Chris Stanhope and wife Ellen, Mike Stanhope, Charlie Stanhope, Elizabeth Stanhope, Chad Stanhope and wife Jen, Erin Krock and husband Dennis, Dalton Cloud, Berklee Basye and husband Jon.

He loved his 29 great-grandkids: Jeff, Zane (Alex), Shayla, Shelton, Shander, Rilee, Caleb, Logan, Aiden, Bryson, Grayson, Kagen, Kayleigh, Lauren, Alex (Chris), Haley (Ronnie), Trevor, Courtney (Alex), Cassidy, Jantzon, Jentry, Mellissa, Skyler, Norah, Regan, Kason, Krielyn, Kooper, Kamden.

And 8 sweet great-great-grandchildren Kai, Kinley, Junior, Xavier, Bella, Krislynn, Rae’Lynn, Dixie.

Our family would like to thank the amazing healthcare teams at Northwest Texas Hospital Inpatient Rehab, Accent Home Health, and Accent Hospice for their love and support.

Also, we would like to say a special “Thank You” to the amazing staff and sweet residents at Brookdale Medi Park West, the community in which he resided. They all loved Papa and always took good care of him.
