Eleanor “Gayle” Riddle, 77, of Amarillo, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, November 30, 2020.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 4, 2020, in the Church at Quail Creek with Dale Moreland officiating.  Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Gayle was born on July 30, 1943, in Hereford, Texas to Merle and James E. Dodson.  She graduated from Friona High School in 1961 and then Draughon’s Business College in 1962.  She then went to work as an executive assistant in the oil and gas industry for companies such as Mesa Petroleum from 1962 – 1986; then a CPA company and Stout Safe Storage from 1987 – 2014. She was a member of the Church at Quail Creek, where she was a homebound volunteer.

Gayle married Earnest “Wayne” Riddle on August 23, 1986, in Canadian, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Smiley Fulks.

Gayle is survived by her husband, Wayne Riddle, of the home; two daughters, Robyn Herring and husband Cary of Amarillo and Kim Edwards and husband Steve of Parker, Colorado; two stepsons, Gary Riddle and wife Kelly of Fritch and Brian Riddle and wife Mona of Liberal, Kansas; one stepdaughter, Shawnda Mendenhall and husband Lex of Grand Prairie, Texas; two brothers, Ronald Dodson and wife Pat of Wichita Falls, Texas and Conny Dodson and wife Keta of Friona; one sister, Sandie Ward and husband Robert of Dimmitt; ten grandchildren, Greta, Garin, Seth, Brett, Kandle, Chelsea, Blake, Justin, Jandi and Jordan; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Jude, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Gracie’s Project,  PO Box 2512, Amarillo, TX 79105.

  3. I was sad for me today, yet happy for her when I found out my “cous” Eleanor Gayle Reddle went to be with the Lord. We had not seen each other much since we both had grown up, but she knew I loved her and I knew she loved me. We used to have so much fun laughing and cutting up. She was always beautiful inside and out. I will miss her every time I think about her. I will be praying for you Wayne and your children and grandchildren.   10. We were so sorry to hear about Gayles passing. She will be missed. We were just talking about her jokes and tricks she used to pull. She was a very funny person and great to be around. She will be missed.
