Emma C. Núñez, 89, of Amarillo, TX died Wednesday, December 20, 2023.
Viewing will be from Noon – 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 22, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Bret McCasland and Dick Marcear of The Colonies Church of Christ officiating.
Emma was born July 29, 1934, in Gladewater, TX to Concepcion and Francisca Chavez. She married David Núñez in August of 1953.
She was a faithful servant to the Lord and the church, Iglesia de Cristo. Emma was a devoted Christian, a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, all were her focus and passion. In her spare time, Emma enjoyed gardening, cooking, and traveling.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband, David Núñez; a son, David Núñez, Jr.; her parents; and three brothers, Jesse, Juan, and Filimon Chavez.
Survivors include her children, Susie Barry, Diana Haws and husband Gilbert Estrada, and Corina Perez and husband Carlos, all of Amarillo, TX, and LeeRoy Núñez and wife Karen, of Lakeland, FL; a sister, Cecilia Torres, of Cleburne, TX; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
