  1. Eric did several trainings for the Small Business Development Centers in New Mexico. He was my all time favorite presenter. If he was at a conference I took every event he presented. He will be missed. Always cheerful and positive.

  2. My condolences to Eric’s family and friends. I will always remember Eric from high school and beyond. He was a great friend to my son Greg and my daughter Stacy. He has left many great memories with everyone who knew him and he will be missed.

  3. I had the pleasure of working with Eric at United Real Estate. Every time I spoke with him, he inevitably made me smile and laugh! He was a bright light in many people’s lives, and it was an honor to have known him. Rest easy, Eric, and know that you will be missed!

  4. I am struck with disbelief. This is such sad news. I kept up a correspondence with Eric for years practising my English until in 1984 we met in Amarillo and I spent a wonderful summer in Texas with him and his family. We lost track of each other for years and only recently reconnected through social media. I am so very sorry to read this. My heart goes out to Frank, Maribelle and Kathy.

  5. I am really bummed to hear of Eric’s passing. Although I never personally knew him, I have always had a passion for computers and technology, and I know that reading his columns growing up in the Panhandle had an influence on me and numerous others.

I truly hope that Eric understood the number of lives he made better, and I have little doubt that he did.

  6. When I lived in Amarillo during the 90’s, my Mom and I took a class with Eric to learn how to “use email.” To this day, I think of Eric when someone fails to put a subject in the subject line. He really emphasized how important it was in finding emails and decades later, I see how right he was! 😄 I’m going to start invoking his name as I keep reminding my own children to do it.

Eric taught his classes so enthusiastically that it made us excited about this whole “internet” thing that was coming our way. In the early days, he was instrumental in educating those of us that had to make that technological leap. And he was mostly right in many of his predictions. He asked us why the internet would not put magazines and newspapers out of business….”because you can’t carry your computer to the bathroom!” 😄 Well, he lived to see that change.

Clearly he has left too soon. I send comforting thoughts to those who will miss him.

  7. We were lucky enough to get to spend the last year with Eric as he was training manager for United Real Estate. He had a huge fan club (no shock there) and had been asked to be the key note speaker at our upcoming convention in March. To say there is a huge hole in our organization is an understatement. Ever the technology evangelist, SEO/Marketing expert, social media guru and friend.

I had the good fortune of talking with him late last week and he was so happy. Work was going well, he was looking forward to speaking and bringing Kris with him to the convention, his kids were doing well and he was so proud of them. He was on top of the world. Rest in peace, dear friend, and we’ll get those drinks by the beach when I get to where you’re at.

    1. Tonja – well said. Eric will be missed terribly at United. He made an indelible mark on our training and education program. My favorite quote from Eric… “put me in coach!” RIP, we will miss you.

  8. What a comet in our lives!!! The life lessons he taught us, personally and professionally and with etiquette and a sense of humor.
Thank you for sharing Eric with all of us! With prayerful appreciation, DJ
