Ermyne Faith Emerson
Ermyne Faith Emerson, 89, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on December 12, 2023.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 18, 2023, at Llano Cemetery with Scott Davey and Flex Ovalle officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.
Ermyne was born on July 19, 1934, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma to Erma and Bill Snodgrass. She graduated from Checotah High School and attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where she was a member of sigma sigma sigma sorority. She married David Emerson on August 21, 1953 and they were married for 70 years. Ermyne served on the board of Child Garden School and sang in the choir at First Christian Church. She was a leader of the Thursday Bible Study. She later attended Grace Church in Amarillo, Texas. Ermyne’s most important role was raising her children and grandchildren. When we think of her, we think of her loving kindness building each of us up to serve the Lord so that when we are old, we will not depart from it.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Emerson; daughter, Carrie Leigh Emerson; mother and father, Bill and Erma Snodgrass; and son-in-law, Ben Byrd.
She is survived by her son, Joe Emerson (Lynn); daughter, Sally Byrd; son, Terry Emerson (Connie); sisters in-law, Mary Ann Archer (Terry); Lois Emerson and Carol Emerson; grandchildren, JoLynn (Zach), JD (Chantal), Kari (Andy),Kirbi, Kristen, Marsha, Tammy (Jimmy), Jamie (Andy); great-grandchildren, Shelby, Zachary, Shadden (Yanet), Tanner, Jesseca (Kit), Ashton (Estrella), Nico, Caison, Sterling, Sadie, Morgan, and Wyatt; great-great-grandchildren, Sabella, Oliver, Braxton, Zariah; and cousin, Georgann (Tracy).
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M., Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Talina, Misty, Heather, and Travis for their compassionate and loving care.
