
Ernest Paul “Pops” Perry Sr. 64, of Amarillo, TX passed away on March 3,2023, after a hip replacement and long battle with COPD.
Paul was born on Jan 3, 1959, in Amarillo. He was a talented “self taught” mechanic with a true engineering mind. His first job was at a salvage yard where he built his first car from parts he found there. After retiring he could be found in the yard tinkering or building lawn mowers for anyone who needed one.
He was a devoted dad to Ernest Paul Perry II “Jr” and wife Amy, Tarra Evans and wife Tina and the late Kimberly Ann Perry. Loving PaPa to Ernest Paul Perry III “PJ” and wife Ivory, Hunter Perry, Nicky Evans, Jeremy Perry and Justice Perry. Great PaPa to Aspen and Ernest Paul Perry IIII “lil ern” Perry and Wesley little. pops was very proud to have his name live on through the generations. His brothers, Joe Perry Jr and Marshall Golden Jr, sisters Tammye and husband Johnny, Cindy Perry and Sue and husband Danny Judd to share his memory. He also leaves Uncle Mike Ray and Pamela Joyce. Many more relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Molly Perry, father Frank Joe Perry Sr, mother Neva Golden and stepdad Marshall Dale Golden Sr and grandpa Ernest Milton Perry.
Pops you were always a sweet man as long as I knew you ! You’re up in heaven dancing with Molly so I know you’re so happy ! RIP Pops
