Ethel Edwina Southard, 83, of Dumas, TX died Tuesday, July 13, 2021.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 16, 2021, at Northlawn Memorial Gardens with David Bonner officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.

Ethel was born September 24, 1937, in Yakima, WA. to Dalton and Edwina Damish.  She grew up in Everett, WA.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and orcharding.  She was a member of the 6th & Meredith Church of Christ.  She married her childhood sweetheart, George Southard on October 22, 1954.  They loved to travel together.  She was a devoted wife and mother and will be very missed.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Jane Southard.

She is survived by her husband, George Southard of Dumas; two daughters, Louise Friedrichsen and husband Steven Rains of East Wenatchee, WA. And Debbie Langley and husband Gary of Dumas; two sons, Gary George Southard and wife Nancy of Port Angeles, WA, and Dalton Boyd Southard of Moses Lake, WA.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, 5410 Bell St. #411, Amarillo, Texas, 79010; Alz.org; or to Kindred Hospice.

Viewing will be at the funeral home on Thursday, July 15, 2021, from Noon-8:00 p.m., and on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

    My deepest sympathies to George and his family at this time. May we all be together in Christ on the other side, where there is no more pain or sorrow.
