Evelyn Fay Morrison

Evelyn Fay Morrison, 77, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on January 3, 2024.

Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at The Loft Church, 4400 S. Georgia St., with Rick and Jaci Chadick officiating.  Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Evelyn was born in Vernon, Texas on November 13, 1946, to Emmer Fay (Fry) and James Earl Morrison.   Evelyn was born into a large family of 9 children.  Because of this, she grew into adulthood with a strong family bond that bound her in commitment and dedication to all, regardless of their relation.  She loved all in-laws just as if they were blood.  The love in her heart never seemed to divide amongst others, but instead seemed to multiply to include everyone.

In her working career, the majority of her time was spent working in the business office of the Amarillo Diagnostic Clinic.  After that, she focused her time on her home and family.  She greatly enjoyed time spent dancing, reading, and the occasional trips to Casinos to try her luck at the slots.  Sometimes her luck was better than others.  She also enjoyed parties, get-togethers, and holidays where family and friends, and even strangers would feed the “social butterfly” within her.  She only knew how to love one way, and that was with everything in her.  She loved well and was well-loved in return.

Preceding her in death are her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins etc.

She is survived by her daughter Becky Tatom and husband Tim, of Amarillo…grandsons Nick Tatom and wife Becca, Kendall Tatom and wife Ashley, and Clay Tatom, all of Amarillo.  Also 2 brothers, a sister, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who all love her dearly.
