Floretta Beyer, 77, of Amarillo, TX, died Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 22, 2021, at Llano Cemetery with Lennie McCay officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Floretta was born March 28, 1943, in Cooper, TX to Amon and Florine Burnett.  She graduated from WW. Samuel High School.  On June 29, 1962, she married Glenn Beyer.

Floretta was a homemaker and worked at Republic National Bank in Dallas, TX and for Dr. Robertson in Amarillo, TX.  She was a member of the Women’s Bowlers Hall of Fame and was an avid bowler.

She was preceded in death by a son, Brian Beyer; and grandson, Dillon.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn Beyer, of Amarillo, TX; son, Tracy Beyer and wife Julie, of Amarillo, TX; a brother David Burnett and wife Dana, of Lake Creek, TX; grandchildren, Trevor, Dennis, Nathan, Skyler, and Spencer; great-grandchildren, August, Sophie, Jack Jack, Baylor, and Blakley; and extended family Greg and Jane Ziolkowski, and Kay Holmes.

In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations are made to Texas Oncology, 1000 South Coulter, Suite 100, Amarillo, TX 79106 or The Liver Institute at Methodist Dallas, 1441 N. Beckley Avenue, Dallas, TX 75203.

  1. I knew Floretta for many years and bowled and traveled with her more times than I can count. She was always such a fun and happy person and a joy to be with. Always there if you needed her for anything. My deepest sympathies to all of her family – Rest In Peace my friend….

  2. Floretta was always smiling and positive. Through two long years of chemo and pain, she knew where she was going and always had a great, positive attitude. Heaven has a wonderful new angel. God bless the family.

  4. We always enjoyed seeing her smiling face on our occasional trips to Western Bowl and at state bowling tournaments. We are saddened by her passing. She will be missed. Prayers of comfort for Glenn and family.

  7. I did Floretta’s nails for many years and our grandsons were friends. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. She definitely loved her family.
