Frances Marie McMillan, 89, of Amarillo, TX passed away on April 14, 2021.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Lance Herrington officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Frances was born May 9, 1931, in Gorman, TX to John and Bessie Lou Claitor.
Mother was the “cable t.v.” lady in Perryton, TX in the 60’s and 70’s. If you paid in person, you visited with her. Our parents were involved in the Campers on Mission throughout the state of Texas. For several years, they built campgrounds for youth attending church camp.
Frances loved to teach Sunday school at her church, Paramount Baptist. She taught the senior ladies’ class for many years. Frances was a true prayer warrior in the greatest sense. She prayed daily for her family and those in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldon “Corky” McMillan; her little brother, Stanley Joe Claitor; and her infant grandson, Weston Miles Hopper.
Survivors include her brother, John Howard Claitor of Falls Church, VA; a sister, Louise Fitzgerald of Broken Arrow, OK; two sons, Lee McMillan and wife Kayla of Midland, TX, and Wes McMillan of Amarillo, TX; a daughter, Becky Hopper of Amarillo, TX; granddaughters, Shelby McMillan of Midland, TX, and Addison and Grayson Hopper, of Amarillo, TX; nieces, Lynn Marshall of Broken Arrow, OK, and Elaine Eason of Amarillo, TX; and nephews, Ronnie and Brent Fitzgerald of Louisiana.
