Gary Ted Mell, 59, of Amarillo, TX passed away on June 20, 2021.
Private family services will be held on Saturday, June 26th, 2021 at 5226 Quincy Dr., in Amarillo, Texas.
Gary was born in Wyandotte, MI on December 1, 1961, to Helena and Ted T. Mell. He was raised in Michigan with his four siblings Helen, Teddy, Bruce, and David. As a young adult, Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He loved nature and being outdoors. Gary was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing his meals with loved ones. He was very handy and seemed to be able to fix anything. He had a strong work ethic and was devoted to his career as a Diesel Mechanic.
Gary met his future wife in Midland, Texas, who he married at the age of 27. They lived together in Arizona and Texas where he loved and cared for his son, Clinton Mell and stepdaughter, Christy Ellis. While their marriage would not last forever as they had hoped, Gary and Connie remained close until the day he departed.
Gary was preceded in death by his brother, David and his parents, Helena and Ted T. Mell.
He is survived by his loving children, Clinton and Christy; former spouse, Connie; grandchildren, Clinton II and Elody; daughter-in-law, Kandace, siblings Helen, Teddy, and Bruce; and childhood sweetheart and longtime friend, Renae Busch.
