He retired from the Texas Department Criminal Justice as a parole officer.
On the 4th of April he would have celebrated four years of marriage to Becky Reeves.
He enjoyed flint knapping, gun clubs, hanging out at Good Karma Smoke Shop, and going to Fredericksburg every April. He loved his fur babies, Texas, and his country.
He was preceded in death by his son, Nic Reeves; his parents; and a brother, Jimmy.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Reeves; son, Phillip Reeves; stepchildren, Clay Blake, Cathy Blake, and Melissa Lindmark, and Bobby Rogers, Jeff Rogers, Matt Rogers, and Danny Rogers and their spouses; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his lifelong friends, Larry, Lonnie, Mark, and Neil Jolly.
Gil was one of the good guys. I worked with him at SPS and loved his laugh. You knew it was going to be a great time when he and Larry Jolly were there. Gil was kind and such a great person, so sorry to hear this.
Gill was one of a kind.
Always, a sincere guy , even if you didn’t always agree with him.
He was indeed a patriot.
He will be missed by his Cigar Buddies on Tuesday afternoons.
Good memories.
