Guy “Larry” Sanders

Guy “Larry” Sanders, 72, of Amarillo, TX died Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

Larry was born April 1, 1951, in Tucumcari, NM, to Guy and Audine Sanders.

Full and rich is the life of a man who finds enjoyment in life’s simple pleasures.

A walk in nature, observing the birds, or planning his next home improvement project were elements of a wonderful day for Larry Sanders. Larry loved his family and was happiest when he knew everyone was safe, sound, and even better, all together. As a civil engineer and software developer, he dreamt big, strived for perfection, pursued knowledge, and taught his children and grandchildren to do the same. But Larry’s greatest gift of all was highlighting the importance of living a peaceful life; the ripples of which will undoubtedly live on in countless generations to come.

Larry made his transition in the comfort of his own home surrounded by family and his wife Marinel, by his side. He leaves this time and space to step into eternal life; joining his parents, Guy and Audine Sanders. Larry will be sorely missed by his family, Marinel, wife of nearly 52 years; daughters, Tanya (with Sam Prestwood, Melissa (with Jared Bottorff), Cheryl (with Jake Bartone); grandchildren, Bailey, Zachary, Jackson, Vincent, Adeline, Makaylah, Elliana, and William; siblings, Sharon Croy, Rick Sanders, and John Sanders along with their spouses; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Larry and his family send a huge thank you to Gentiva Hospice for their outstanding care of Larry and their dedicated support to Marinel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Gentiva Hospice of Amarillo in Larry’s name.
