Harold Wayne ‘Buck’ Bulkley, age 90, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023, after a brief illness at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center.  Born on May 2, 1933, in Shallow Water, Kansas, Harold was one of seven children born to Harrison Wayne and Violet Marie Bailey Bulkley.

He was a retired Navy Veteran, 20 years, and a Southwestern Public Service Journeyman 25 years.  A longtime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Harold was a past Commander of VFW Post 9022 in Dumas Texas, past Chaplin of VFW Post 9477 in Lovington, NM and member of VFW Post 3894 in Waxahachie, Texas. Harold was an avid car buff, having rebuilt and worked on many vintage cars.

On April 21, 1954, Harold married Beulah Pearl ‘Nickey’ Dixon in Dumas, Texas. Beulah passed in 2006. He married Bettye Moyers in 2007.  She lives.

He was preceded in death by his wife Beulah, his parents, two brothers Robert Bulkley and Ronie Bulkley and one sister Ann Eckels.

Mr. Bulkley is survived by his son, Timothy James Bulkley (Sally) and daughter, Deana Bulkley Wright (Sterling); five grandchildren, Timothy James Bulkley, II (Amanda), David Bulkley, Allison Bulkley, Hayley Wright (Robert) and Lyssie Wright; two great grandchildren, Timothy James ‘Tripp’ Bulkley, III and soon-to-be born Rebecca Hazel Bulkley; and three sisters, Bonnie Sauer, Louise Williams and May Landgraff.

The family will receive friends from 11-12:00 PM, Friday, November 17, 2023 at Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox with military rites provided by the American Legion Post 224 and VFW Post 9022. Burial will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas.

  1. Thank you Harold Bulkley for all the wonderful memories. I can still see your smiling face and your laughter was contagious. Always telling funny stories and teasing Ron and I. You could light up the room for sure. God bless your family and you and your loved ones that have gone before you are meeting again. We will see you again 🙏😍

  2. Buck you are one great friend. We worked at Moore County Power Plant together, then we worked together at Harrington Station on overall. You sir you’re a great friend to all. Going to miss you Buck.
