Janet was born September 26, 1951, to Ray and

Mary Frye in Hereford, TX, where she graduated from Hereford High School.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from West Texas State University.

She married Bruce Edwards on March 1, 2000.

For many years, Janet worked as a social worker and was active as a Make A Wish volunteer.  She was a Baptist. Spending time with friends and family, playing piano, and vacationing in the mountains was what she loved best.

Janet is bound upon the gossamer wings of moonbeam and sunlight.  And even though we’re but a breath away from the face of God, you can hear her whisper through the veil, “This is not goodbye, it’s merely a pause until we meet again.”

Survivors include her husband, Bruce Edwards, of Amarillo, TX; sisters, Anne Reiter and husband Ronnie, Shawn Frye, and Beth Frye, all of Hereford, TX; nieces, Terri Irlbeck and husband Brian, Traci Miller and husband Jeff, Melanie Rodriguez, Audrey Jackson, Ali Frye, and Chloe Frye; nephews, Raegan Gearn, Riley Gonzales, Cole Gonzales, Kevin Edwards, Sean Edwards, and Cole Edwards; two great-nephews; and two great-nieces.

  12. Many prayers go up for Bruce and family! I was so blessed to know Janet since grade school, and even roomed with her in college. She always had a beautiful smile and loved being a little ornery from time to time. I lost touch for a time, but reconnected 5 years ago, only because Janet made an effort to reconnect many of our friends. What fun we had at the HHS 50th reunion weekend! I will never forget Janet, and will see her again in the New Heaven.
