Janice Ruth Kunkel French, 84, of Dumas, TX died on Tuesday, May 31, 2023.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Northlawn Memorial Gardens with Matt Price, pastor at First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.
Janice was born on September 26, 1938 in Hamilton, Texas to Fritz and Nelda Kunkel. She grew up in Priddy, Texas and graduated from Priddy High School in 1957. She married C.L. French on July 18, 1958. She was a homemaker and had worked as a secretary. She was an avid member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.
She was the 5th child of 14 children and preceded in death by her parents, and 10 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband, C.L. French of Dumas; two sons, Rodney French of Tyler and David French of Amarillo; one grandchild, Elizabeth French, one great-grandchild, Oliver French; one brother, Wayne Kunkel of Idaho; two sisters, JoAnn Cooper of Denver City and Fay Mckay of Allen; and many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be from noon til 5 P.M. on Sunday, June 4, 2023.
Mrs. French was always such a pleasure to visit with & to help with her eyecare needs. I always enjoyed seeing her. I am so sorry for your loss. I will be lifting up your family in my prayers. may the Lord be especially near & comfort you as only He can.
