Janine Mallett

Janine Anne Mallett went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2023, at the age of 73, in the presence of her family.

Janine was born on July 13, 1949, in Amarillo, Texas; the second of three children born to Charles and Bunny Sadler. She married the love of her life, Doyce Mallett, on June 6, 1975. Janine and Doyce were blessed with 47 years of marriage.

Janine attended Amarillo High school and graduated in 1967. During her college years, she spent a semester traveling the world on World Campus Afloat. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from West Texas State University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City, Missouri. She taught art in Amarillo ISD for many years. In her latter years, she enjoyed helping her husband as his secretary at Mallett Law Office. Janine was an accomplished artist and all of her paintings are true treasures to her family.

Janine’s passion for the Lord was evident to all who knew her. She was a devoted grandmother who never missed an opportunity to support her grandchildren. Her true loves were the Lord and her family.

She was a member of Harvest Connexion Church where she helped found the Women’s Life Group. She was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Amarillo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Bruce Sadler, and an infant grandson, Robert Wayne.

Janine is survived by her husband, Doyce; daughters Sheila Kenney and husband Jerred of Amarillo; Elise Williams of Amarillo; Leslie Elford and husband Mike of Cedar Park; six grandchildren Lane, Ben, and Sam Kenney of Amarillo; Tadd Williams of Amarillo; Lindsey and Brady Elford of Cedar Park; a brother, Don Sadler and wife Ada of San Francisco; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 27th from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at Boxwell Brothers’ Ivy Chapel on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Harvest Connexion Church building fund or the Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation.
