Jannette was born in Carnegie, Oklahoma on May 11, 1946, to M.H. and Mary Roddam. She graduated from Floydada High School. She met Charles at Gene’s Drive-In in Lubbock, Texas, and they were married on November 19, 1964. They moved to Amarillo the following year. Charles and Jannette share three children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
For the majority of her life, she was a homemaker. When her girls were older, she went to work as a bookkeeper and a receptionist at a chiropractic office. Jannette loved watching Dallas Cowboys football, Texas Rangers baseball, and every western movie ever made, especially the ones with John Wayne. Her favorite activity of all was watching her grandchildren in any and everything they did. They were her pride and joy and she loved to talk about them to all.
Jannette was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles; son, Rick Blackstock and wife Janet; daughter, Brenda Covel and husband Shayne; daughter, Becky Coker and Nathan Coker; and grandchildren, Chase Blackstock and wife Morgan: Morganne Rundus and husband Tyler; Paxton Covel and wife Brooke, Jackson Coker, and Nicholas Coker; great-grandchildren, Nolan Blackstock, and Callahan Covel. Also, many beloved extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Martha’s Home and The Bridge.
