Jay Howard, 63, of Amarillo, TX passed away on April 24, 2022.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Grace Community Church with Bill Gehm and Scott Davey officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Jay was born in Amarillo, TX on September 1, 1958, to Maxine and Bill Howard.

Jay or “Jay Baby” as he was known to many, met the love of his life at the age of 15 years old. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1976 and married Becky Ward in Amarillo, TX on October 1, 1976. They had two daughters and more pets than you could count! Jay rescued many, many cats and brought home pigs, dogs, ducks, and pets of all kind!

Jay was the owner of Jay Howard’s Backhoe, Ditching, and Septic Service. Jay had an incredible work-ethic and worked his whole life for his girls. His favorite title later in life was “Papa” to his four precious grandchildren. He adored his “boys” and doted on his grand baby girls. Jay and Becky were members of Grace Community Church.

Survivors include his wife Becky Howard; daughters, Niki Westenburg and husband Chad, of Amarillo, TX, and Jalee Flippo and husband Devin, of Cypress, TX; brother, Joe Mike Howard, of California; four grandchildren, Kyler, Kason, Elliette, and Eila; brother-in-law Brian Ward and wife Cathy; mother and father-in-law Jeanne and Roger Wallace, and many nieces and nephews. Jay never met a stranger and had friends that loved him from every walk of life. He will be deeply missed by his friends, co-workers, and beloved family.
