Jayten Walter Blue passed away suddenly on December 23, 2022, and went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 20.  He was born in Amarillo, TX on February 27, 2002, to Cody and Amber Blue.

Jayten grew up in Fritch, TX where he attended Fritch elementary and middle school.  Jayten loved playing baseball with this stepdad, Bud, and their vacations to the mountains.  Jayten also loved to play the drums and played in the band at school.  He started his high school career at River Road High School, where he ran cross-country track.  He moved to Terrell, TX with his aunt and grandparents his senior year.  He graduated from high school from Terrell High School in 2021.  Jayten was always a very kind and compassionate person.  People describe him as one of the happiest people to be around.  Jayten was well loved by everyone, including complete strangers.  He was very outgoing and could strike a conversation with anyone.

Jayten loved to spend time with family, especially his brothers and sister.  When he was younger, we called him the “informant” because he was always telling on them for something, but as they grew, they formed an unbreakable bond.

Jayten had a lot of big dreams, and he was just beginning to chase after them.  When he was approaching driving age, we would get daily texts of the sports cars he wanted.  He had a caviar taste.  Well, he worked and saved and finally go the car he wanted.  He was so proud of himself.  Jayten began working at the Terrell State Hospital as a nurse’s assistant and was looking forward to pursuing a career in nursing.

We are so proud of the young man he became.  Jayten will be missed dearly by all who knew him.  He will be remembered as the fun-loving, sweet guy he always was.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Amber Estep, and grandfather, Monte Blue.

Lovingly remembered by his father, Cody Blue and stepmom, Holly Blue, of Amarillo, TX; stepdad, Bud Estep of Amarillo, TX; brothers, Marc Dreyer and Ayden Blue, of Amarillo, TX; sister, Baylee Dreyer of Elk City, TX; grandparents, Yvonne and Dave Dykstra, of Amarillo, TX, Larry and Charlie Smith, of Terrell, TX, Barbara and David Hodges, of Amarillo, TX, Dan Fountain, of Amarillo, TX, and Lonnie Estep; aunt, Stacy Baca, of Terrell, TX; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, including friends that have become family.

  1. Sweet Jayten you will be missed by many. I was one of his third grade teachers at Fritch Elementary and will always remember his beautiful white hair and sweet smile that went with it. He was one of the most caring kids to his classmates and myself, with the sweet notes he would write and telling me daily he loved me. It is no surprise he was going to be a nurse and I know he would have made a great one. I pray for his family and friends that are left behind, but I know it was a sweet reunion in heaven with his mom.
    Love and Prayers,
    Mrs. Brown
