Jens Christian (Chris) Nielsen III, 87, of Amarillo, TX passed away on April 21, 2022.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M., Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 25, 2022, at Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Chris passed away due to health-related complications. Just as he dealt with all experiences in life, Chris dealt with his illness with strength and grace. He wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones and family as possible. Chris always aimed to make people feel welcomed, whether by volunteering to help someone, offering sage advice, a silly joke, or just being supportive to loved ones. He had a passion and a gift for writing and sharing poems that the LORD had given him. He delighted in creating and giving scripture memory cards, lapel pins and keepsake memorabilia.
During his final days, and at the time of his passing, he was at home with his loving wife, Debra, whom he loved very much
In lieu of flowers, to honor Chris’s memory, Debra requests that you take a close friend or relative, or your favorite loved one, out to coffee, lunch or dinner. Enjoy a laugh, a smile, a hug, a memory, and remember Chris. Don’t take a moment for granted! Spend quality time with your loved ones and like Chris, make everyone a friend. The time on Earth is but a fleeting moment, make it count.
