  1. Jerry Don was his own man ! I grew to really appreciate his skills and understanding of carpentry and construction by being able to work intimately beside him as a building inspector for the City Of Amarillo. He was a very good friend , who comes from a great Texas legacy. He loved his family dearly and if you were his friend he had your back. I am very appreciative of his answering the call to serve our country in Vietnam . His unit 1st Cavalry suffered the highest casulty loss of any other unit. He was in country at the worst time from 68-69. I used to tell new contractors who had heard of Jerry”s reputation to be tough especially on new guys. that all they needed for a little grace was some hard candy and that would sweeten him up enough that even if you failed your inspection he would stop and explain what you needed to do . They were always amazed when I’d see them again and ask how the candy worked with Jerry. He was an awesome friend and every time I remember him I will pray for his wife Heidi. She loved him dearly as did he her ! RIP my friend and brother.

  2. I KNEW JERRY WHEN WE SOLD COKES AT JONES STADIUM AND WENT TO MATTHEWS JR. HIGH. HE WAS PART OF THE GANG ….I STILL OWED HIM 50 CENTS…….

  3. It was my privilege to work with Jerry. He and have the same sarcastic sense of humor, and sometimes that got us through the trials of working for the City! God rest your soul, Jerry Hibdon!

  4. He taught me to do cartwheels and walk on my hands. He convinced me to jump off of roofs and was there to catch me. He bought me my first wine. He was there when I had my surgeries and my babies. He was my big brother. I will miss him.
