Jerry Lynn Covey, 85, of Amarillo, died Saturday, January 14, 2023.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Coulter Road Baptist Church with Michael Dickey officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Jerry was born on September 1, 1937, in Amarillo, Texas to Mary and Sam Covey. He had been a truck broker. Jerry married Margaret Brooks on June 29, 1957, in Amarillo. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sam Covey and Mary Elizabeth Lockey; three brothers, Sonny, Bud, and Chuck; and five sisters, Alene, Lorraine, Reba Nell, Doris, and Mary Lou.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Margaret Covey, of the home; two daughters, Sherri Carroll and husband Guy, and Stacey Maples and husband Greg, all of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Greg Carroll and wife DeAnna, Melissa Sager and husband Justin, Kayla Maples and Bryson Kemp, and Brent Maples and wife Brooke; and four great-grandchildren, Cooper, Colton, Elliot, and Davis.
The family invited friends to stop by the family home from 5 – 6:30 P.M., Tuesday evening.
