Jerry Rodney Chandler
Jerry Rodney Chandler, 87, of Amarillo, TX died Saturday, March 26, 2022.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Hillside Christian Church, 6100 S. Soncy, with Greg Corona officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Jerry was born April 19, 1934, in Plainview, TX to Allen and Pauline Chandler.
He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1952. Jerry served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1962. He married Ruth McCaskill on September 3, 1959.
For thirty years, Jerry worked in the U.S. Border Patrol and was stationed in Brownsville, TX, Comstock, TX, Marfa, TX, and Corpus Christi, TX, and retired as Assistant Chief in Tucson, Arizona.
Jerry was a member of Hillside Christian Church and the Fisherman class.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Ruth Chandler; two daughters, Debra Chandler, and Sharon Medley (David Medley); grandchildren, Sarah Medley, Alison Medley, Kathlyn Medley Billington (Thomas Billington), Emily Medley, and Amanda Medley; two great-grandchildren, Harper Medley and Raven Ramirez; along with many friends.
