Jill Fox, 71, of Amarillo, TX passed away on October 19, 2022.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2022, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Jill was born in Tulsa, OK on December 25, 1950, to Dorris and Basil Flanagan. She was the oldest of 3 children. She graduated in 1978 as an LVN and used her degree over the years helping others.
Jill’s greatest joy and hobby in life was dancing. She started dancing at a very young age taking tap, ballet and jazz. She also loved to two-step and was able to still do so at her granddaughter’s wedding in August of this year. Jill also enjoyed spending time with family and loved going camping in the summer. Those who knew her best, will also tell you how much she loved her daily Sonic drinks.
Jill proved how strong and determined she was, especially during the last year of her life. She touched many lives and made many new friends in such a short period of time. The family wishes to thank all of those involved with her care. We are forever grateful for the love and compassion you showed her and the support you gave to us as well.
She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Robertson; her parents Basil and Dorris Flanagan; her grandparents; two of her closest friends Grace and Carolyn; and her beloved dog Maggie.
Survivors include her daughter, Amber Briant and husband Rodney; granddaughters, Kaitlynn Cognasi and husband JP and Emily Briant; step-daughter Laci Elgin and husband Donnie; grandchildren Macey Gibaszek, Cameron and Brinley Elgin; her sister, Jan Haliburton and husband Ronnie; her brother, Jeff Flanagan and wife Derinda; three nephews and their families; and several dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given in Jill’s name to the High Plains Food Bank or to Cancer Research.
