Jimmy (Jim) Aron Clark
Jimmy (Jim) Aron Clark, 76, of Amarillo, TX passed away on December 12, 2022.
Celebration of life services will be at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, December 17, 2022, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Murray Gossett officiating. The family will receive friends after the funeral service at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will be at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, December 18, 2022, in Blackwell Cemetery in Blackwell, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Jim was born in Altus, OK on December 6, 1946, to Cora Lee Graves and Ordaff Arlo Clark. He attended Wayland Baptist University on a college scholarship running cross country track.
Jim married Judith Kay Walls on July 8, 1966.
Jim worked as an Athletic Director, Football Coach, and Educator for 38 years. He was with the Quanah Indians: 1972-1974, Bishop Badgers: 1974-1986, Lockney Longhorns: 1987-1991, and Alice Coyotes: 1991-2010. His career win/loss/tie record: 226/172/5. Jim was inducted into the Coastal Bend Coaches Association Hall of Honor on January 13, 2018, for his achievements and excellence in coaching young men and women of South Texas.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman, sports enthusiast, John Wayne fan, and above all family man. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, an old fashioned western, or a good ole road trip. He lived life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ordaff Arlo Clark; mother, Cora Lee Dabney; stepfather, William Lester Dabney; and brother, Ronald (Ronnie) Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Clark, of Amarillo, TX; brother and his wife, Rick and Diane Dabney, of Amarillo, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Jim Clark Jr. and Sherry (Chapman) Clark, of Amarillo, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Jason Clark and Cassie Johnson, of Fort Worth, TX; granddaughter, Taylor Clark, of Amarillo, TX; grandson, Taron Clark, of Amarillo, TX; grandson, Mayer Clark, of Ft. Worth, TX; great-granddaughter, Lilly Clark, of Amarillo, TX; adopted family Skrobarczyk’s, of Riviera, TX; adopted family Chhotu’s, of Corpus Christi, TX; many other extended family, nieces and nephews.
