Jimmy “Jw” Walker
Jimmy “JW” Walker passed away peacefully on August 25th, 2023 surrounded by his family.
Services will be at 5:00 pm on Friday, September 1st, 2023 at the Arena of Life Cowboy Church with Donnie Trammell officiating.
Jimmy was born on March 16th, 1958 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Lloyd and WaNell Walker. He grew up in Amarillo, Tx and graduated from Tascosa High School in 1976. Soon after graduation he started a long career of hauling cattle followed by working at Amarillo Livestock Auction as a cowboy for over 20 years. He finished out his working career at P. T. G. as a trailer mechanic. He always said Cowboying at the Stockyards was the greatest time of his life.
He married the love of his life Celine Cannon on July 17th, 1987. They had one daughter. Jimmy was a loving and devoted husband, father, PaPa, brother and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister LaDonna Ellis.
He is survived by his wife, his daughter Amber Perez and husband Chris of Amarillo, daughter Stephanie Greene of Vega, three brothers Lloyd “Bo” Walker and Suezette of Plainview, Gary and Pam Walker of Amarillo, Clifford Walker of Tulia, and two sisters Brenda Southerland and husband Merle of Amarillo, and Shannon Ackley and husband James of Amarillo. And his two precious grandchildren Cienna and Hudson Perez.
In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate to Harrington Cancer Center.
