John “Kelly” McWhorter

John “Kelly” McWhorter, age of 47, of Amarillo, TX passed away on January 14, 2020.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Hillside Christian Church Chapel, 6100 S. Soncy with Greg Corona officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

Kelly was born to Dick McWhorter and Tanis McMorries on July 31, 1972 in Austin, TX. Kelly graduated from Amarillo High School then received a degree from Texas A&M University. Later, Kelly received his master’s degree in occupational therapy. Kelly was currently employed by BSA.

Kelly was preceded in death by grandparents, Paul McWhorter “Papaw”, and Lorene McWhorter; uncle, Terry McWhorter; and grandfather, Charles Price “Papa Chuck”.

Kelly is survived by his mother, Tanis McMorries; father, Dick McWhorter; sister, Megan Mason; grandmother, Phyllis Price; sons, Connor McWhorter, and Camden McWhorter; and former wife, Dai McWhorter.

  3. Kelly was a great guy and a friend. I had the pleasure of working with him and he made a huge difference in a lot of patients lives. He will be missed by many but not forgotten.
