Johnathan Matthew Hipskind, 42, of Canyon, TX passed away on August 18, 2022.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 22, 2022, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Johnathan was born in Dallas, TX on June 13, 1980, to Gayle Hipskind.

Johnathan loved music, he often said, “music is what feelings sound like.” He enjoyed hiking at Palo Duro Canyon and frisbee golf with his constant companion, Audi Bear.

Johnathan used every opportunity he could to make people smile, “making people smile is my style” he would often say. He created a Facebook page “Making People Smile is My Style” to give others a reason to smile and laugh. He wanted to cover the negativity in the world with smiles. Johnathan had an infectious laugh.

Johnathan was one of the founding members and was involved with the Amarillo Chapter of the Chive Community.

He was preceded in death by his PaPa, John Thomas Diggs.

Survivors include his mother, Gayle Hipskind Diggs; brother, Josh Hipskind and wife Loren; sisters, Samantha Allen and husband Tim Turley, and Kelli Moore and husband Red; nephew, Kaleb Hipskind; nieces, Morgan Lynch and husband Brennen, and Paige Hipskind; grandmother, Becky Diggs; uncle, Mark Hipskind; aunt, Verlenne Monroe; and beloved dog, Audi.

  4. Hey John, you were a so much fun to hangout with and just talk while throwing tossing discs and slamming chains. I still remember the time I got my IPod and we listened to Fleetwood Mac while showing off our cool dance moves for the world to see. From now on, the first throw of any course will be for you. You will be missed brother.

  8. Truly, one of a kind. I’m not normally short on words, as you well know.
    What can I say Brotatochip….. It is what it is, right?
    From Chivin’ to road trips, to walking Fremont and the strip in Vegas…. swimming at the house in Phoenix in the storm trooper suit. Listening to music loud, cooking on the grill constantly, or just hanging out…What a time I’ve had with you.

    Making people smile, was truly your style.

  12. You’re favorite Unicorn/Giraffe will miss you. Always had thoes good for your soul laughs with him. Some really good, deep conversations that heal a heart. Singing Kareoke, your favorite was Mr. Brightside. He was ALWAYS there to help others.
    He was the only person to help me a couple of times in my life when I reached out to a lot of people at once.
    Truly a heart as big as Texas.

    Since that’s how you introduced yourself; that’s what I’ll address you as. You truly are a one-of-a-kind guy. The MOMENT I met you, I instantly enjoyed being around you. We didn’t hang out much, but, whenever we did see each other, it was most definitely cordial and often times, hilarious. You’re sincerely going to be missed, fella.
