Johnie Robbins, 91, of Amarillo, TX passed away on May 18, 2023.
Memorial Services will be at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at the Ware Chapel at Polk St. Methodist Church with Reverend Stephania Gilkey officiating. Private Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Johnie was born in Slaton, Texas on February 5, 1932, to Lee Davis Peebles and Lela Uda Russell Peebles.
Johnie Graduated high school in Slaton and went on to attend
Texas Tech as a music major. She was married to Homer R. “Bob” Robbins Jr. on January 31, 1952.
She was Co-operator of Robbins Appraisal Service in Amarillo until her husband’s death in 1997. Afterwards she began writing. In 2003, Johnie started Robbins Grips, which began selling ergonomic crutch grips which she designed, developed, and got into production. She was also very active in several local social organizations, Member P.E.O., a Life Member of the National Federation of Music Clubs, and a longtime member of Polk Street Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by, her parents, Lee Davis Peebles and Lela Uda Russell Peebles; husband, Homer R. “Bob” Robbins, Jr.; and a brother and sister.
Survivors include her children; Homer Robbins of Austin, Texas, Wesley Robbins of Amarillo, Texas, Suzanne Robbins of Midland, Texas, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests Memorials be made to Polk St. Methodist Church
