Jonathan “Jono” Lee Griego

Jonathan Lee Griego or as many of us knew him as “Jono”, was born to Roni Guillen and Larry Griego, on October 29, 1979, in Amarillo, Texas, Jono passed on from this life on December 5, 2023. Jono was a graduate of Caprock High School. Jono was an important team member of the Market Street Deli for 7 years.

Jono lived to cheer on his Eagles and never missed a beat to give all the Cowboy Fans a hard time. Just as much as Jono loved to give his family a hard time about the Dallas Cowgirls, Jono looked forward to receiving the same banter from them about his Eagles. Jono was an avid fan of all things from the Jordan brand. Jono never passed on a chance to get a new pair of Jordan’s, nor did he ever pass on a chance to show them off.  Jono had an infectious smile that made him loveable to everyone that he came across. Never having met a stranger, Jono had many of friends, and even more cousins that he claimed throughout the community whether they were kin or not.

Jono was preceded in death by his grandmother, Anita Alcala “Momo”; grandparents, David and Carolina Griego; his uncles, Phillip Alcala and Tony Griego; his aunt, Victoria Griego; and cousins, Rigo Mendoza, and JoJo Griego.

Jono is survived by his mom, Roni Guillen and her husband Jessie; his dad, Larry Griego and his wife Clarissa; his brother, Damian Alcala of Amarillo, TX; sisters, Heather Ramirez and her husband Eddie, of Amarillo, TX, and Candace Zerger and her husband Lance of Yukon, Oklahoma; his stepbrothers, Mathew Mitchell of Amarillo, TX, Michael Mitchell and his wife Traci of Amarillo, TX, and Marshall Mitchell and his wife Kimra of Amarillo, TX; his step-sister Megan Mitchell of Amarillo, TX.  Jono was a very proud uncle of his nephew, Anthony Olmos, nieces, Nevaeh Griego, Arianna Olmos, Mariah Martinez, Clairynna Mascorro, and Avah Alcala, and many more nephews and nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces.
