Joy Nell Fitzgerald of Amarillo, Texas passed away on February 22, 2023.
Private graveside services will be held in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers, 2800 Paramount.
Joy was born December 18, 1928, in Cleveland, Arkansas to Phillip and Molly May Henry. She was the Valedictorian of her high school class in Ashland, Oklahoma. After high school, Joy obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Easter Oklahoma St. College. She married James Robert Fitzgerald on May 18, 1948. Joy was a 50-year member of Paramount Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James; and daughter-in-law, Diane Fitzgerald.
Joy is survived by children, James Robert Fitzgerald, Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana, John Fitzgerald and wife, Patty of Parker, Colorado, Joe Fitzgerald and wife Cindy of Midland, Texas, and daughter Judy Lane and husband Gary of Newman, Georgia; grandchildren, Scott, Caroline, Erin, Kristin, Lindsay, Chris, Joe, Joy, Annie, and Madison; and 14 great-grandchildren.
