
Juana “Janie” Maria Cozbey, 60, of Dimmitt, TX went to her heavenly home on Monday, November 15, 2021.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.
Janie was born on April 16, 1961, in Dimmitt, TX to Dimas DeLaCruz Martinez and Francisca Rodriguez Luevanos. She married Robert Cozbey in May 1990, in Dimmitt “Coronado Acres”, TX.
Janie was her family’s biggest supporter, intercessor, prayer warrior and a faithful woman of God. She loved living a quiet humble life at her farm and taking care of her farm animals. Janie was shy, loving, kind, humble, accepting of others and a very hard-working person. Most of all, she loved all her grandchildren.
She was generous and enjoyed helping people in need. The charity she enjoyed donating to was People Caring for People. She was also a big supporter of the firefighters and military.
She was preceded in death by her parents: two brothers, Hilario and Rogelio; and a sister, Lidia.
Survivors include her spouse, Robert Cozbey, of Dimmitt, TX; sons, Miguel Medrano and spouse Maria, of Del Rio, TX, David Medrano and spouse John Gast, of Lubbock, TX, Gabriel Medrano and spouse Debbie, of Bovina, TX, Daniel Medrano and spouse Kristi, of El Paso, TX, and Juan Medrano and spouse Angela, of Asher, OK; a daughter, Claudia Houston and spouse Alejandro, of Bartlesville, OK; brothers, Elias and Mario; sisters, Maria Elena, Alicia, Graciela, Rosa, Virginia, Nohemi, Ester and Irma; a host of nieces and nephews; a special friend, Luisa Muñoz, of Hereford, TX; her beloved grandchildren, Osric and spouse Adriana, Tristan, Alexya, Maliyah, Aethan, Hannah, Jonathan, J’Kub, Lacey, Tori, Kayden, Aniyha, Jaydon, Gabbie, Kiara, C.J., Dravin, Kasin, Liris, Arelie, Krystal, Megan and Jordan; great-grandchildren Silas, Milo, and Zayden; and numerous extended family.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, November 19, 2021, at the funeral home.
